Hannelore, Ilton and a house in Eito<\/em><\/a>.<\/h1>\n\t\t\t\t\t

We're Hannelore and Ilton, a Belgian-Cape Verdean couple who wanted to build something together in Cape Verde, on the island where Ilton was born and raised. With his experience in tourism as a receptionist and guide, and Hannelore's background in customer service, the dream grew of a small guest house where personal attention comes first.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Our name says it: Kasa d'Vizin, the house of the neighbours. A place where guests feel at home, as if they're visiting the neighbours. At the same time we think it matters that our guests get in touch with the local culture. From furniture and decoration to products and partnerships: wherever possible we choose local. Our kitchen is fully plant-based and combines Cape Verdean dishes with international influences.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Our team is made up of people who knew each other before they came to work here. We care about a close team, fair wages and a healthy work-life balance. We're a small family business, and we hope you feel part of our family during your stay - without having to do the dishes.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

\"When we started Kasa d'Vizin, we didn't want to open just another guest house. We wanted to create a place where we'd like to stay ourselves.\"<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

A place where you don't feel like customer number 247, but where you're greeted by name. Where there's time for a chat, a hiking tip or a spontaneous recommendation for that small restaurant you might otherwise walk past. We don't need to be the biggest place on Santo Ant\u00e3o. We hope to be one of those places people still think back on with a smile years later - not only for the walks or the view, but for how they felt here.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

Small, deliberate and personal<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

We deliberately chose to have only four accommodations. That means fewer guests, but more time for each guest. We don't believe bigger is always better.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Precisely because we're small, we can help you personally: planning your trip, arranging transport, recommending walking routes, or simply making time for a conversation.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Hospitality starts with honest advice<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Sometimes that means Kasa d' Vizin is the best choice. Sometimes it means we recommend a different hike, a restaurant that suits you better, or even another place to stay.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

We don't want you to think afterwards: 'they sold me something'. We want you to go home feeling you were well advised. If you had a good holiday, we're happy - even if part of it happened somewhere else.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

We're proud of our island, not only of our guest house. That's why we'll gladly tell you where to find good coffee, which walk fits your plans or where to eat something special. Working together moves everyone forward: our guests, our neighbours and Santo Ant\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Hospitality starts behind the scenes. A team that enjoys coming to work passes that on to the people staying here.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

So we invest in fair wages, a healthy work-life balance and a good atmosphere. That may sound obvious, but it isn't everywhere. To us it is simply part of running a business responsibly.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Plant-based, without pretension<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Our kitchen is fully plant-based. Not because we expect our guests to be vegan, and not because we want to convince you of a lifestyle during your holiday. We cook this way because it suits us, and because we like showing how tasty, varied and accessible plant-based food can be.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

So don't expect a diet of celery juice and cauliflower rice. We like flavourful, familiar dishes, generous portions and food you actually crave: Cape Verdean classics in a plant-based version, pancakes, falafel, stews, curries, pastas and home-made desserts.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Everyone is welcome<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

We welcome guests of all backgrounds, ages, gender identities and sexual orientations.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Are you autistic, do you have ADHD, are you highly sensitive or neurodivergent in another way? Tell us what helps to make your stay more comfortable. Where possible we adapt: extra clear information, taking sensory input into account, or looking together at which room suits you best.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

We also think along with food allergies and intolerances. Because everything is prepared in the same kitchen, we can't fully rule out cross-contamination, so let us know in advance and we'll be honest about what is safely possible.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n

There are plenty of beautiful places to stay on Santo Ant\u00e3o. We're not aiming to be the largest, the most luxurious or the flashiest one.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Kasa d'Vizin sits in the village of Eito. You hear and see life around you: neighbours greeting each other, children going to school, farmers working the land and now and then a rooster who decided sleeping in isn't part of your holiday plans. Not a closed resort, but the middle of the community.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

With only four accommodations we keep things small on purpose. That lets us help you personally with walking routes, transport, restaurants, day trips and practical questions. Sometimes the best advice is something we don't sell ourselves - and that's fine by us.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Paul Valley is one of the best-known hiking areas on Santo Ant\u00e3o. Several routes are easy to reach from the house, and we're happy to help with route advice, transport to the starting point or a local guide.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Comfort without excess<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Air conditioning, fast internet over Starlink and access to outdoor space or the roof terrace. Modern comfort combined with the character of an ordinary Cape Verdean village house. Not everything is straight or perfectly symmetrical - and to us that's part of the charm.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Where possible we choose local products, local craftspeople and people from the area. We charge no commission on transfers or excursions, so you know what you're paying for and the money reaches the people doing the work.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Alone, with your partner, your family or friends: you're welcome. That includes LGBTQ+ guests, people with autism, ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence, and guests with specific dietary needs. Tell us what matters to you.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n
